Professional History

I began freelance writing in 2001, following a 15-year career that spanned writing, marketing and account management at agencies and advertisers large and small.

In the 1990s, I was an award-winning copywriter at Directech, a former direct marketing agency that served some of the decade's most influential high tech companies such as the former Digital Equipment Corporation, Sun Microsystems and Avid. Other agency stints include positions at the former Ingalls, Quinn & Johnson and New York City-based Grey Healthcare Group, where I started my career in 1987. On the in-house marketing front, I played writing and marketing management roles at Rational Software, which was acquired by IBM in 2001. Similar, multi-faceted experiences at Fidelity Investments and technology and publishing start-ups helped me foster the versatility and can-do attitude that makes a difference for my clients.

Today, I serve a variety of clients in New England. These include marketing and design agencies and companies of all sizes in different industries. AAA, Monster, Timberland and Sentinel Benefits are among the companies I have served. Other businesses on my client roster include Avid, Idiom Technologies, OneSource and HiWired. In 2003, my work on behalf of global packaging company, PAK 2000, earned two first place awards from the New England Direct Marketing Association.

I am an Honors Program graduate of Villanova University, where I earned a BA in Economics in 1987. I've been a writer and aficionado of the written word for as long as I can remember, and I credit my skills to the hands-on mentorship of leading industry copywriters. To continuously hone them, I contribute regularly to pro-bono writing, marketing and publicity initiatives for volunteer organizations in my town and children’s schools.
